NB Although the U-MATE Series is still available, we would recommend using it for existing programs that already utilise U-MATE connectors. For all new applications we would recommend the next generation SEA-MATE connector range. This new connector series has many of the original features as those of the U-MATE connectors, including positive keying and proven underwater mating technology but offers greater flexibility to the customer with full oil filled capability and increased contact configurations.

The metal shell U-MATE series derived from the highly successful WET-CON range of connectors. The design of the underwater mateable U-MATE incorporates gold plated electrical contacts, individual contact sealing and positive keying on the metal shell. Proven sealing technology and Heavy Duty Acme Thread are used in the production of these connectors. 316 Stainless Steel is used as the standard shell material, but optional materials such as Titanium, DGS 1043 and Inconel™ are also available.
